Name the marks of the True and False Messiahs?

Hi Suzanne.

The Bible says in Isaiah 8:20 ';To the Law and to the testimony, if they speak not according to this word it is because there is no light in them';.

False Messiahs are those who deny the deity of Christ. Jesus is God. Jesus is our Savior. To deny this truth is to deny eternal life.

John 3:16

Romans 10:9

Take care of yourself Suzanne.Name the marks of the True and False Messiahs?
There is only one Messiah, Jesus Christ and the true mark that made Him the only authentic Messiah was that he rose from the dead. Only God could conquer the grave.

Yup send him back to Thailand. He had to be scared of something to want out of the world capital for sex with teens. Now that John Mark Karr is presumed innocent, will he be charged for false claim and statements?
even though he was not charged for it its been so publicized that he will always be connected to this case because every one thinks he did it
With any luck he will get sent to Lompoc in California. Those guys don't take kindly to child molestors or those who are into kiddie porn. If he is sick enough to confess to a crime that he didn't commit then chances are it is something that he wishes he had the chance to do at some point in time.
I'm not a law expert, but he should be charged with a lot of things. He is a known pedophile, with or without the JonBenet case.
Possible but not likely due to his mental background.
He should be. That was a waste of time and tax payers money.
probally not since all charges are dropped

I not able to fill the boxes in word with above tick mark. so pl give me free software or tools which work with office xp version. Thanks.Pl give me a software for put symboles or tick mark like as 'TRUE' or 'FALSE' in word or pdf file ?
Actually, you can use Office XP to do that for you. Wherever you need to put a tick mark, do the following:

Insert%26gt;%26gt;Symbol. Look for the Square Root sign: it looks just like a tick.

Use the letter 'x' for crosses. That's how I fill in my forms!

Good Luck!Pl give me a software for put symboles or tick mark like as 'TRUE' or 'FALSE' in word or pdf file ?
Open the Word file. Click where you want to insert the TICK. On the Insert menu, click Symbol, and then click the Special Characters tab. Find the TICK or the Character of your choice. Double-click the character you want to insert.

    Click Close.

    Hope it will be done.

    Best of luck

You can also check your fuel level sensor in the tank. The level indicator float may have jammed in the upper position. Locate the fuel level unit (generally a circle-shaped piece of plastic or metal cover, screwed to the side or top of the tank) and try to knock it a bit, perhaps it will disengage, if that was the problem.

For our Christian friends here on R&S: Deuteronomy 18:22 on false prophecies and Mark 13:30 on the return...?

Okay, first off, Deuteronomy 18:22 (KJV, as I'm told it's preferred):

21 And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the L-RD hath not spoken?

22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the L-RD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the L-RD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.

    -

And Mark 13:30 (with context, also KJV):

25 And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.

26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.

[And several other prophecies that I'm sure you can find if you're interested.]

30 Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.

31 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

    -

Since this did not happen in the allocated time, hasn't the L-RD not spoken it?

    Will post more examples...

Peace. For our Christian friends here on R%26amp;S: Deuteronomy 18:22 on false prophecies and Mark 13:30 on the return...?
It's all too much to answer here.

I agree with Mommy - THE KINGDOM was the church and still is the church. Jesus Christ came to bring the Kingdom of God - it's the body of Christ with all the Holy Ghost/Spirit power and authority -- it's not known by some Christians b'c some don't know this is what Christ meant by His Kingdom. (I'm amazed mommy got thumbs down on this one, it's absolutely true)

The Lord's prayer that Jesus taught: **';Your Kingdom come Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven';**

The spirit of God is moving among the body of Christ right now anointing with great power and authority - hard to believe i know but none-the-less true -- it's a supernatural move of God.

Hope this is one point cleared up.

Peace and blessings ; )For our Christian friends here on R%26amp;S: Deuteronomy 18:22 on false prophecies and Mark 13:30 on the return...?
Than you Angel - i know most people here and out there in the world see Christians as stupid, arrogant, and incapable of loving one-another -- it's not about us, it's all about our Lord Jesus Christ and His will and plan for all mankind. Nothing of us and all of Him.

    Peace to you x

If you read since verse 5, you will understand that the prophecies have not happened- earthquakes, famines, etc. ALL these ARE the beginnings of the birth pangs. They are happening now. So Jesus meant what he said, THIS generation鈥?will not pass away until all these things have passed.

    ______________________________________鈥?br>

    鈥?Or race.
sigh! I really wish christians would get this one right so it would clear up the confusion... ';the KINGDOM'; was the setting up of the christian church. and that did happen prior to that generation passing away.
The Christians of Jesus' time understood that passage to mean Jesus wuold return in their lifetime. He didn't.
';some of you standing here will still be alive when i come back'; - Jesus, 1st century
All the Lord has spoken will come to pass that much we can be assured of.
This goes with the 'thief in the night' passage. Since 'no man knows the hour nor day, no not even the angel or the Son of Man, but only the Father knows.'

What 'generation' is this passage referring to? Do you know?

The 'generation' is that one which saw Israel become a Nation. This generation is that of 1948; which NOT all have passed away. How long is a generation in biblical terms? Some say it is 40 years, some say it is 70 years. So, those of 1948 are now 60 years. Ten years will mark their 'generation' reached; however, not ALL from that generation will pass away. The key in Mark is ';till all these things be done';.

We see many of the birth pangs happening around the world. The LORD will speak when it is time to speak... when He does, will you be ready to hear the trump and be caught up to the Bridegroom?

Problem with understanding the Bible is due to the different interpretations of it. Don't make the Bible so complicated ...its actually very simple to understand. Study to show thy self approved. Let the Holy Spirit guide you, you will never go wrong.
Jesus didn't deceive anyone. The generation alive at the beginning of the birth pains will not pass away until it is all finished. That means that from the beginning of the ';birth pains'; until the end of the tribulation will be within the time frame of one generation.

Matthew 16:28 they did see Jesus come into His Kingdom when after his resurrection, he baptized his followers with the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 10:23 It means you will not finish going through the cities of Israel preaching the Good News until Jesus returns (you, as in followers of Christ in general)

Matthew 23:36 All of the blood of the innocent prophets, wise men, and teachers come upon the hypocrites of the generation in which Jesus was talking to.

Mark 14:62 We will all see Jesus sitting at the right hand of his Father. Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that he is Lord.

1 Cor 7:29 Yes, the time is short. What may seem like a long time in human time is not a long time to God.

1 Thes 4:16 that is referring to the end of times and has not occured yet.

    Peace to you.
Are you having trouble with the ';...this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.';? This entire passage in Mark 13 is future during the ';tribulation';. ';THIS generation'; refers to the generation He is speaking OF which is in the future; not the generation he is speaking TO. It all WILL come to pass. This is all future prophecy. As for all the others, you're leaving them out of context. The context is all future.

    Genesis 12:3 -- I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee...';

Although you are trying to make your Messiah out to be a liar, I still bless you, seeing as how the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob chose your nation as the ';apple of his eye'; and that your nation (Israel) is ';beloved for the fathers' sakes';. You are simply trying to destroy people's faith. Jesus Christ will come back and will sit upon the throne of David in Jerusalem and will rule with a rod of iron and That will be your lion from the tribe of Judah. But before GLORY must come SUFFERING.
Verily I say unto you; well spotted. I've always been astonished at how much his return resembles that of the great Zeus', especially with regards the fact that neither has actually occured within the previously designated times. Perhaps he's intending on being fashionably late, as is appropiate for any member of royalty.
    Pst: ';doors'; (Mark 13:29) is not ';door'; (John 10:9);

    And ';generations'; (Gen 5) isn't ';generation';(Mt 1:1)

God is not [the author] of confusion, but of peace.

Pst: God isn't LORD in the flood story. 2 isn't 7.

    POINT:

    Grace isn't LAW;

    Truth isn't LIE.

    Life isn't DEATH

    Mercy isn't SACRIFICE

    Peace isn't DIVISION
If you look at the verses preceding Mark 13:30, you will notice Jesus is speaking of things yet to come. He repeatedly says ';...you will see...';, meaning He is speaking of future events not yet happening because He is speaking in the future tense.

You have a discerning eye. Some of the things written in that passage are happening now, such as the increase in wars, earthquakes %26amp; famines.

It also says right after this that the end is still to come %26amp; that this is the BEGINNING of the birth pangs. Birth pangs get closer together %26amp; more intense as the delivery time draws nearer, meaning the wars, famines %26amp; earthquakes will increase in numbers %26amp; severity as the time for the Son of Man approaches.

So, He is referring to a future time that hasn't happened yet.

EDIT: You're confusing different appearances of the Son of Man.

His comment to them of not tasting death until they say His Kingdom come was also recorded in Mark 9 where Peter, James %26amp; John saw Moses %26amp; Elijah. They are considered part of the Kingdom of God. So they did witness it before dying.

Remember, John the Baptist preached the kingdom of God is here...meaning we live in a natural realm but operate under the Kingdoms' principles.
The time for its fulfillment has not yet occurred. The generation that shall not pass away until these things are fulfilled is the one that is around during the events that he describes in that context:

    Mark 13:4-31

4 Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign when all these things will be fulfilled?'; 5 And Jesus, answering them, began to say: ';Take heed that no one deceives you. 6 For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am He,' and will deceive many. 7 But when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled; for such things must happen, but the end is not yet. 8 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows. 9 But watch out for yourselves, for they will deliver you up to councils, and you will be beaten in the synagogues. You will be brought before rulers and kings for My sake, for a testimony to them. 10 And the gospel must first be preached to all the nations. 11 But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. 12 Now brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death. 13 And you will be hated by all men for My name's sake. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.

14 ';So when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not'; (let the reader understand), ';then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 15 Let him who is on the housetop not go down into the house, nor enter to take anything out of his house. 16 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his garment. 17 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 18 And pray that your flight may not be in winter. 19 For in those days there will be tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of creation which God created until this time, nor ever shall be. 20 And unless the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake, whom He chose, He shortened the days. 21 Then if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or, 'Look, He is there!' do not believe it. 22 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 23 But take heed; see, I have told you all things beforehand.

24 ';But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; 25 the stars of heaven will fall, and the powers in heaven will be shaken. 26 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. 27 And then He will send His angels, and gather together His elect from the four winds, from the farthest part of earth to the farthest part of heaven.

28 ';Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender, and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. 29 So you also, when you see these things happening, know that it is near--at the doors! 30 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. 31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.

    NKJV

So basically those that see the signs given in Mark 13:4 onward will be the generation that will see the second coming of Jesus.

I'm pretty sure you just insert ' for tittles.

Mark each statement True or False and explain why?

    a. Elementary row operations on an agumented matrix never change the solution set of the associated linear system

    b. Two matrices are row equivalent if they have the same number of rows

    c. An inconsistent system has more than one solution

    d. Two linear systems are equivalent if they have the same solution setMark each statement True or False and explain why?
    a. True. Each row operation on an augmented matrix corresponds to performing some operation on the associated linear system which doesn't change the solution set.

    b. False. For example,

    [1 0]

    [0 1]

    and

    [0 0]

    [0 0]

are not row equivalent. You can show this lots of ways (for example, they are both in row-reduced echelon form, and each matrix is row equivalent to only one row-reduced echelon form).

    c. False. An inconsistent system has zero solutions.

    d. True. Two systems are said to be equivalent if each equation in each system can be written as a linear combination of the equations in the other system. This happens just when the two systems have the same solution set. (There is probably a theorem in your book which states this.)

Is true or false that if you are under a mark of a door in an earthquake, you can survive?

    PROTECTION DURING EARTHQUAKES

The following are some of the important precaution to be observed to save our life during an earthquake. Even though we do not have fool proof system to fore warn earthquakes some of the changes in nature or in the behaviors of animals and birds may help to decide the situations.

    Before an earthquake.

Have a battery powered radio, flash light, and first aid kids in your house ,

Make sure every one knows where they are kept ,

Lean first aid; teach how to stop electric main and gas supply ,

Don鈥檛 keep heavy objects in high shelves ,

Fasten heavy appliances to the floor, and anchor heavy furniture to the walls ,

Plan for your family for reuniting after an earthquake if anybody separated ,

Urge your school teachers to discuss earthquake safety in the class rooms, and ask them to conduct drills ,

Find out your office has an emergency plan, know your responsibility at your works during an emergency .

    During an earthquake.

Stay calm if you are indoors, stay out if you are out of buildings. Many injuries occur as people enter or leave the buildings.

If you are indoors , stand against the a wall near the center of the building, or get under a sturdy table keep some cushion on your head, Stay away from windows and outside doors, if you are in a high rise building stand against a support column.

If you are in outdoor stay in the open place , keep away from over head electric wires. and bridges,

Don鈥檛 use open flames, if you are in a moving vehicle stop away from over bridges and stay inside the vehicle still earthquake stops.

    After an earthquake.

Check yourself and nearby people for injury, provide first aid,

    Check electric and gas connection,

Turn on your radio or T.V for emergency instructions, reduce the use of phone lines it may be required for conveying some important messages.

    Stay out of damaged buildings,

Wear chapels and gloves to protect against shattered glass and debris.

Stay away from beaches and water front areas where Tsunami could strike, even long after the shaking has stopped. Is true or false that if you are under a mark of a door in an earthquake, you can survive?
I don't know what you mean about ';under the mark of a door';, but a doorway is a stronger structure than just standing in the middle of a room. It all depends on the strength of the quake and whether the building collapses. If you were in a tall building during a high intensity earthquake, your chances of survival would be considerably less than if you were in a home. If you are worrying about the supposed earthquake prediction for LA in November, that was not a prediction. I read the entire article, and it is a simulation of what might happen if such an earthquake were to occur. The following quotes are from the article:

The scenario: The San Andreas Fault suddenly rumbles to life on Nov. 13, 2008, just after morning rush hour. The quake begins north of the U.S.-Mexican border near the Salton Sea and the fault ruptures for about 200 miles in a northwest direction ending near the high desert town of Palmdale about 40 miles north of downtown Los Angeles.

Scientists chose the scenario because it would create intense shaking in the Los Angeles Basin and neighboring counties 鈥?a region with nearly 22 million people.

The scenario will be released at a House Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources meeting in Washington. Is true or false that if you are under a mark of a door in an earthquake, you can survive?
Well I am a native Californian....have been through a lot of earthquakes and they tell you to run and stand in a doorway when you feel an earthquake....Usually, that will help protect you.

A really severe earthquake where the whole building falls, that might not be enough. I usually had in mind a place to run to...under something really heavy that things could fall on, etc....but with an earthquake, you don't have much time. They just last seconds.

I did see a couple of things that made me think...one is upper floors falling on top of a lower floor and totally crushing it.

Having an earthquake kit ready, just in case with water, bandages, and shoes and a flashlight kept under the bed.

Usually earthquakes are over very fast. Often there is broken glass, so stay away from windows, and watch out where you walk afterwards. I felt the most safe in single homes...was once on the 8th floor and didn't like swaying back and forth!
I've heard this is true because it is the most structurally sound place in the house/ building, it keeps things from falling on your head, thats not to say that if you are in a high rise building on the first floor and the building collapses that you'll survive. I think it is mostly true for houses.
    what mark?

if you are in the doorway of certain types of buildings there is some added strength in the structure there but there is now way to know how solidly that building was constructed or whether the direction of the earths movement will affect that spot or not.

if there is a porch or some other structure is attached to that doorway for example , you could endup being crushed by falling materials on either side of the door
You can survive anywhere in an earthquake, or you can die anywhere in an earthquake. The unfortunate thing about earthquakes, all natural disasters really, is how unpredictable they are.

But your odds are better in a doorway than in some other places.
Well depending on the size of the quake, it is the strongest part of the building, but if the quake is big... then it will still completely demolish it.
true, those door supporters are actually the strongest things inside a building... it happened to me once. lol
Doorways, pillars and external wall intersections are the strongest part of a building but still no guarantee.

American Admiral Mark Bristol's testimony proves there was no Genocide, true or false?

Ambassador Morgenthau, who informed the world about the Armenian Genocide, was there when it happened. Admiral Mark Bristol, who became U.S. High Commissioner in Turkey after World War I, did not even arrive in Turkey until 1920. Since Bristol was not in Turkey during the Genocide, and the Armenians had already been killed, he had to ask the Turks what happened. Bristol could only talk to the executioners of the Armenians, the Turks. The Turks are hardly creditable witnesses to deny their own crime.

Bristol, a stern military man, liked the military junta ruling the post-World War I Turkey, and he eagerly talked about the ';bad qualities'; of the Armenians and Greeks. Do ';bad qualities'; justify genocide? If so, that might put even many Turks and Americans at risk.American Admiral Mark Bristol's testimony proves there was no Genocide, true or false?

A French Newspaper Honestly Looks at Armenians (1895)

The following is from the illustrated supplement of Le Petit Journal (Nov. 24, 1895,no. 262, page 375; the circulation was one million a day), a modest newspaper of eight pages.

    The back page featured another picture, depicting a scene of a mob massacring others in front of a mosque; the title: ';Events of the East - Attack on a Mosque byArmenians.';

Perhaps this was the only time in the Western press where Armenians were shown as the massacrers! (And how remarkable the newspaper was from... France.) Yet this was their whole schtick; the terrorist Dashnaks or Hunchaks would fire the first shot, as usual, in hopes of inciting the Muslims to massacre Armenians; such would in turn provide European imperialists the excuse to intervene. The strategy proved unsuccessful, and the later tactic became to ally themselves with an Ottoman enemy, preferably during war.

Those who expect personal benefits would not hesitate to create a storm within a glass of water, and in particular would exaggerate the incidents in the East.

Treaties authorize many nations of Europe to intervene in Turkish affairs, when the necessity is demonstrated. Those who have good intentions pay great care when using this right. Others who would stand to benefit would take even the smallest incident and exaggerate it, or may even create such an incident to take advantage.

This is also the cause of why the troubles in Armenia are given more importance than in the past.

Regarding reprisals, the Ottoman consulate in Paris has issued the following note:

“For quite some time, the correspondents of the foreign press are reporting the news concerning the situation in Turkey in the most somber colors; sometimes they are plots, imprisonments, executions which feed the inventive spirit of these correspondents; sometimes they are massacres of Christians of which the proportions vary according to the individual appreciation of each one, and which they claim, that took place.

In the presence of this voluntarily biased campaign, the Paris embassy of the Ottoman Empire finds it necessary to inform the public, in response to all of these sensational rumors. As it is the case in all other countries of the world, some local disturbances which were intended to be related to the general situation of the empire, but could not provide expected new effects in public disorder, have been suppressed The administration will not hesitate to punish those who disturb the public order.

The generous intentions of his highness the Sultan for all his subjects, without distinction of race or religion, are well known all over the world and inspire all administration officials, for the tranquility and progress of the people.

The Turkish government is sufficiently armed to put down the seditions of the Armenians. Our director, M. Marinoni, had the occasion of being assured of all of this personally.

In his voyage to Constantinople, he was received by the Sultan who is extremely open to progress and had a very sincere and warm conversation. Thereafter the Sultan appointed one of his adjutants to show him the military possibilities they possess.

Mr. Marinoni saw in maneuvers these admirable soldiers who at Plevna made a heroic resistance which is immortalized, the marvelously disciplined men and their officers who would follow their Sultan up to death, and which would assure them the eternal happiness, when dying in fight with the enemy.

Our director visited the arsenal of Top-Hane, one of the best in the world, and their production of the most perfect arms, in considerable quantities.

He talked with officers such as you see in the front page for long periods, and was highly impressed of their military education, their knowledge of combat and their love for the army as a soldier.

The situation in Armenia, we repeat, does not present any serious danger; but if the incidents, although it seems impossible, develop for the worse, the Sultan with his wide knowledge and sharp intelligence, will surely triumph.

In other words, there is no need to worry for this little spark, which is being spoken of in Europe for much more that called for; If this is to be left to the authority of the Sultan, he will surely know how to handle the few insurgents.

    False beauty marks?

Would it be wierd to tattoo a beauty mark on your face? I have one like Cindy Crawford's but it's small and barley noticable and I'd like it to be a little more . . . ';defined'; I guess like hers. I saw what it would look like by using a quick dab of my liquid eye liner and I liked the way it looked. But I would feel really stupid going into a tattoo shop and saying ';could you make this more noticable --- not gigantic or anything, like cindy's.'; I just want to know anyone's opinion on it.False beauty marks?
If that is what you want then do it! I however wouldn't go to a regular tattoo shop- They have cosmetic tattooers that do that kind of work (my girlfriend has her eyeliner tattooed on). I also suggest going to this type of tattooer because they are use to working on the face. Tattooing over an already exsisting beauty mark could have complications and a specialist would be able to tell you better and they are also trained to do them on the face. Good luck to you!False beauty marks?
Its not stupid! You have a beauty mark that you want to make more noticable...people wear make-up and clothes and have surgey just so they can bring something out or make them more comfortable. Its the same thing but at least your real...i say you go for it, exspecially if it makes you feel good!!!
Thats kick @ss! I bet lots of models and actors get that done just so they are more unique... Congrats to you. Go for it for sure, and lemme know how it goes for you!
    go for it!

just a little fyi some tattoo artists won't tattoo over a freckle depending on it's size and stuff because the ink doesn't take to well with them.

i know it's a beauty mark not a freakle but it's pretty much the same thing so you might wanna check to see if it is tattooable
Why dont you just where the liquid eyeliner? You could go in..i dont think they would think you are stupid at all...ps. just so you feel more confident about it..its 2006 lol..if you want to go ahead...i think its a marvelous idea..
Do what you want! People have asked for worse things than just a beauty mark. They tattoo makeup on now so really your request wouldn't be weird at all. Maybe you should just wear the eyeliner on it for now and see how people react and how you like it for awhile...because you don't want to get a tattoo and then regret it. Good Luck!!
my opinion is that you should love the way you are, and not try to be like anyone else. but if you really want to do it, i would call tattoo shops and ask first if they do makeup tattooing. a lot of places won't. if they do then i think that would be fine to ask them that. i'm sure they've heard worse. good luck
You could get it tattooed, but why not just use make up or a brown or black fine-point Sharpie permanent marker? Then you can have a beauty mark when you are in the mood to wear one!
i don't see why it's a bad idea. Although you might want to watch it, a lot of tattoo places have a minimum price that they ask.. usually it's about $40 or $60. so I would check into that first because I would not pay $40 just for a little dot!
Hey, i have one on the front of my neck. As my neck is slim and long i sometimes like to highlight the mark with an eyeliner and i quite like it. Don't feel shy in going and getting it tattoed. Also do one thing, highlight the mark with ur eyeliner and take the opinion of ur close friends, they'll be able to guide u better.

best of luck cindy crawford :-)

  • Doesn't Mark 9:1 prove Jesus was a false prophet?

    ';And he said to them, 'I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God come with power.'';

So essentially, Jesus was saying that the world would end before they died. It didn't.Doesn't Mark 9:1 prove Jesus was a false prophet?
It's a very good question, and one that should be approached using reason.

First, if this verse had not come true then Christians would have a) hidden it and not have included it in their gospel account of Jesus or b) not have become Christians in the first place since Jesus words would have been understood as unworthy to believe in and therefore it is unlikely we would have had a gospel account to read, let alone be discussing right now.

But since it is in their Bible and we are discussing it, then obviously it has some fulfillment or meaning that is obviously not immediately discerned.

Mainstream theology teaches two main schools of thought that interpret this text: 1) that Jesus may have been alluding to the spread of the Church, being that its establishment was seen by Christians as evidence that God's Kingdom was in fact ruling over earth's affairs and doing so by the hands of these very apostles that heard Jesus' words at Mark 9:1 and/or 2) Jesus was in fact referring to his glorious manifestation that would occur at the end of the world, a glimpse of which was given to Peter, James, and John ('some that were standing there') by means of the Transfiguration mentioned in the verses immediately following Mark 9:1.Doesn't Mark 9:1 prove Jesus was a false prophet?
Define the ';Kingdom of god';; most ppl think that the book of revelations has something to do with that. I think that the book of revelations is utter bollux and doesn't belong in the bible. If he was talking about the christian religion; then, yesm that did come before his disciples died.
Not a 'false' prophet, but the same type of prophet as all the others who have predicted the end of the world and offered a way, through himself of course, to not die, to not be a part of the masses, to not face the one thing we all fear together, death... and then of course nothing happened except for the creation of a new cult that is now one of the largest religions in the world. Remember of course that the bible is fiction and anything quoted out of it is like trying to make a serious argument and base Star Wars quotes as your reasons for being correct...
Hi, I'm not a bible teacher but from the source that I've provided below , a bible teacher(Harold Camping is his name) answers the question. He says that the answer is in Mark 9:2 , in the source you can view a video or listen to the audio commentary regarding your question.

    Mark 9

1And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.

2 And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.
Jesus didn't say anything about the end of the world in that sentence. Unless you are meaning the end of an age.

    ';Seeing the kingdom of God come with power..';

';Seeing'; in that context refers to revelation.

John the last and longest living disciple and apostle was given the Revelation while on the Isle of Patmos. That revelation showed the fullness of the kingdom of God come. The Messianic Millennium.

John died after that revelation. The Messianic Millennium is yet to come.
Fables of impossible characters. Let's see the faith healing today or better yet, grow an amputated arm. See them get bit by a cobra and drink a gallon of bleach without medical care. The bible says true believers can drink poison and be bit by poisonous snakes and not die. I'm just asking to see the test. Jesus has been argued for over two thousand years, way long enough for xtians to prove their point. They change the meaning of end time prophecy every fifteen years or so. OT books were written after the return from Babylon so the prophecies of the OT were written after the fact. You see the same thing today, when someone dies a 'psychic' claims she foretold it but no one ever heard her mention it until after it happened. Same thing with xtian prophecy, it is always being back-filled, make it up as you go.
JESUS has come into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, and he is teaching a crowd that includes his apostles. He makes this startling announcement to them: “Truly I say to you that there are some of those standing here that will not taste death at all until first they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.”

‘What could Jesus mean?’ the disciples must wonder. About a week later, Jesus takes Peter, James, and John along with him, and they climb a lofty mountain. Possibly it is at night, since the disciples are sleepy. While Jesus is praying, he is transfigured before them. His face begins to shine as the sun, and his garments become brilliant as light.

Then, two figures, identified as “Moses and Elijah,” appear and start talking to Jesus about his ‘departure that is to occur at Jerusalem.’ The departure evidently refers to Jesus’ death and subsequent resurrection. Thus, this conversation proves that his humiliating death is not something to be avoided, as Peter had desired.

Fully awake now, the disciples watch and listen with amazement. Although this is a vision, it appears so real that Peter begins to participate in the scene, saying: “Lord, it is fine for us to be here. If you wish, I will erect three tents here, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah.”

While Peter is speaking, a bright cloud covers them, and a voice from the cloud says: “This is my Son, the beloved, whom I have approved; listen to him.” At hearing the voice, the disciples fall on their faces. But Jesus says: “Get up and have no fear.” When they do, they see no one except Jesus.

On their way down the mountain the next day, Jesus commands: “Tell the vision to no one until the Son of man is raised up from the dead.” Elijah’s appearance in the vision raises a question in the disciples’ minds. “Why,” they ask, “do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?”

“Elijah has already come,” says Jesus, “and they did not recognize him.” Jesus, however, is speaking about John the Baptizer, who fulfilled a role similar to Elijah’s. John prepared the way for Christ, as Elijah did for Elisha.

How strengthening this vision proves to be, both to Jesus and to the disciples! The vision is, as it were, a preview of Christ’s Kingdom glory. The disciples saw, in effect, “the Son of man coming in his kingdom,” just as Jesus had promised a week earlier. After Jesus’ death, Peter wrote about their having ‘become eyewitnesses of Christ’s magnificence while they were with him in the holy mountain.’

The Pharisees had demanded from Jesus a sign to prove that he was the one promised in the Scriptures to be God’s chosen King. They were given no such sign. On the other hand, Jesus’ intimate disciples are permitted to see Jesus’ transfiguration as confirmation of the Kingdom prophecies. Thus, Peter later wrote: “Consequently we have the prophetic word made more sure.” Matthew 16:13, 28–17:13; Mark 9:1-13; Luke 9:27-37; 2 Peter 1:16-19.
No, the kingdom of God came in power on the day of Pentecost.

Rom 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Act 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Act 28:31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

Col 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
Obviously not. Why would they die AFTER the world has ended?

...but sure enough they did see visions of God coming kingdom, starting with, can you say ';Mark 9:2';, the very next scripture?

    Mark 9:2

2After six days Jesus took Peter, James and John with him and led them up a high mountain, where they were all alone. There he was transfigured before them. 3His clothes became dazzling white, whiter than anyone in the world could bleach them. 4And there appeared before them Elijah and Moses, who were talking with Jesus.

Also remember that John saw visions in the Book of Revelations.
And when Jesus was Crucified and Rose from the Dead they witnessed the Kingdom of God come to power.

    Mark 15:39 And when the centurion, who stood facing him, saw that he thus breathed his last, he said, ';Truly this man was the Son of God!';

Mark 16:19 So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.

    Peace be with you

' kingdom of God come with power. '

    refers to the rapture.

therefore, what DEATH is Jesus referring to .. is the Q.

i see it as the wicked will die then REINCARNATE.

when the rapture happens, the reincarnated wicked will be around. THEN their death will be ...

    permanent, eternal.

so the phrase .. will not taste death ... bc it is not permanent ... yet.
kingdom of God does not mean end of the world. i believe it was in referene to jeses dying and people receiving salvation.

and then there were two people (i think... can't remember who) and they didn't even die. they just ascended to heaven. :)
That scripture can be interpreted two ways. Some believe it is in reference to the transfiguration, some believe it's a reference to the post-resurrection church which some did participate in as per Acts.
Or your interpretation is incorrect .. let me ask u a silly question ..are you even a christian??

If you aren't let me suggest there is a lot more scripture to explain why you aren't getting it when it comes to understanding gods word
Jesus' primary message was that the world was about to end and people should repent before that happens. Obviously, he was wrong.
No that is not what Jesus was saying. This is what happens when you take verses out of context. The Kingdon Of God was not the end of the world.
Some fundies argue that some of those people standing there must still be alive today, because the kingdom of God has not yet come with power. It's a testament to their powers of rationalization.
You are not very informed about Bible stories. He was referring to the transfiguration which happened in the next few verses.
No. Jesus was speaking of the judgment to fall on Jerusalem, not the end of the world.
I asked a question on this theme, but Christians say that this passage refers to the return of Jesus at Pentecost and not the End of Time.
lol. so essentially you 'Think' that is what The Living Word says? (Jesus IS The Living Word). ';You'; take ';Him'; out of context everytime because 'you' don't know Him.
or another obvious conclusion is more true!

people come to false conclusions and teach them as facts and truth
There is much conflict in the words of the Bible. This shows that anyone claiming that every word is true is an idiot.
If my memory serves me correctly, that verse immediately precedes the Transfiguration.
He was referring to the near far farther future.
Wrong, and you know it. John the Beloved was translated.

    Don't you just hate loopholes?

Is the cross the mark of the beast? None can by sell or trade ideas without it has a false vision and God?

It (the cross) certainly was a sign of a painful death in the times of Rome.

Today, you might as well use a gun...

And you get what you want, or someone hauls out a bigger gun...

LOLIs the cross the mark of the beast? None can by sell or trade ideas without it has a false vision and God?
The bible says that in the last days the antichrist will institute this mark of the beast (the antichrist and the beast being synonymous). You must accept it on pain of death and without it no one will be able to buy or sell.

It will be placed on the forehead or right hand and many today believe it will be some sort of electrons device, perhaps an implant, which will contain all your personal information and be remotely controlled. In this way, it can be turned off should one become rebellious towards the antichrist's regime. If it's turned off, you're pretty much SOL.Is the cross the mark of the beast? None can by sell or trade ideas without it has a false vision and God?
No, it isn't, or there would be a lot of people running around with crosses on their hands and heads. The ';mark of the beast'; means that you are supporting its activities by your thinking and with your means of living.

In some countries, you can't do business if you don't purchase a political card. Also, in some countries, if you do not agree with the politics or their religion if it is a state religion, you are persecuted and not allowed to use any educational degree you might have to support yourself. If you are all gung-ho about the matter, you have the mark of the beast; you are in agreement and have been branded, so to speak, with a brand. But, it's not visible, because it's something that can only exist as an action of some type that shows support for what the ';beast'; is doing. For the identity of the ';beast'; see below:
Yes, Christianity killed Christ. The pharisees wrote the Bible. The true path to ';becoming'; Christ has been hidden! The true ';forbidden'; fruit is the psilocybin mushroom and it it the key to regaining spiritual consciousness.
Your speculative guess or interpretation will be as good as mine is. We can speculate all we want but the bottom line is, what God makes it out to become in reality, that really counts.
    i think not

Rev 13:17 And no one could buy or sell anything without that mark, which was either the name of the beast or the number representing his name.

In particular this is a reference to the catholic church, and all of the ';daughter'; churches, who do not keep the Holy Sabbath, which has always been Saturday. You will find they also break other Ten Commandments as well, especially the graven image commandment (ever been inside a catholic church? SATAN IS NOW RULING IN THE CHURCHES.

';When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand';)

    ';Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.';

';Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean [thing]; and I will receive you,

  • True or False? Mesothermal climates are marked by harsh winters and short summers?

Meso = mid-range You figure it out.

Mark each statement True or False and justify each answer?

    a. Two vectors are linearly dependent if and only if they lie on a line through the origin.

    b. if a set contains fewer vectors than there are entries in the vectors, then the set is linearly independent

    c. If x and y are linearly indepedent, and if z is in Span{x,y},, then {x,y,z} is linearly independent

    d. If a set in R^n is linearly dependent, then the set contains more vectors than there are entries in each vector.Mark each statement True or False and justify each answer?
    a) False, they have to be on the same line, but the line don't have to go through the origin

    b) False, the vectors can be multiples of each other and be dependent

    c) False, (x,y,z) is linearly dependent,as z = ax + by

    d) False, the set can thus be two vectors, multiples of each other

    THEY ARE ALL FALSE !!!

What is the Mark or sign or symbol the defines those who worship the false truth? False belief False Vision.?

A hint they come in the name of Jesus saying o lord o lord They say God see every thing don't you think it sees this. Was predicted long before it happened. What is the Mark or sign or symbol the defines those who worship the false truth? False belief False Vision.?
How can you have a ';false'; truth? If it is false than it isn't truth. But to answer your question, Revelations is a symbolic book. The mark of the beast is 666. But this is symbolic of something else that is too lengthy to get into with you now. Yes, Jesus predicted this while he was still on earth that many false prophets would arise and mislead many. What is the Mark or sign or symbol the defines those who worship the false truth? False belief False Vision.?
In Revelation false religion is called ';Babylon the Great'; the Empire of False Religion she is symbolized as a ';Harlot'; a whore because she's in bed with the commercial and governmental elements of this world. All religions that are politically involved are part of Babylon the Great as is all their members that attend them. This Harlot rides a scarlet colored wild beast that has seven heads and ten horns. Each head represents a world power and each horn represents a king of that world power. The heads with two horns mean two Kings like the seventh head ';British/American'; world power. The book of Revelation says that the beast destroys the Harlot, that would mean that government will destroy religion, we are really close to this happening just look at the condition of the world. In the book of Daniel it talks about a beast that is, then is not, then is again, and then goes off in to destruction. What governmental organization was ,than was not and then is again and right now is still in power and is soon to go off into destruction. Right after WW1 in 1919 the ';League of Nations'; was formed, then when WW2 broke out it was dissolved as a failure because it did not bring world peace the reason why it was formed in the first place. Then after WW2 the same governments formed the ';United Nations';, a beast that was(';League of Nations';), then was not(was dissolved), then it is again(same beast-different name) as the United Nations. According to Bible prophecy this beast falls short of bringing about world peace and the number 7 in the Bible is perfection so 6 is given to this beast and it was times 3 so 666 to show how short it really comes in bringing about world peace. So 666 is the mark of government(seven headed wild beast) and a Harlot is the symbol of false religion and they both go down at Armageddon right along with wickedness. False religion worships false gods like the Sun God Tau who's symbol is a cross and was born on the 25th of Dec, a religious mask has been put on this pagan festival and people are fooled into thinking they are celebrating the birth of Christ when Jesus himself said -celebrate my death not my birth ! That's just one of the pagan festival that the churches have duped people into worshiping. And now what's the response ';we don't put any religious meaning on it, we just do it because it's fun and the kids love it';! In Revelation the 18th chapter we are told to get out of her not still do it because it's fun?
I would say the gifts, one ether has some or does not.

I think this B/C all my ancestors had and used their gifts.

For instance My maternal Grandmother could tell you if a women was pregnant or not and if the child would be a girl or a boy, just by looking in the women's eyes. Further my Maternal Great Grandfather could pick a lifelong mate for anyone and was never wrong about his decision. He could pick a divorce waiting to happen just by seeing a couple walking together.

    Have a Nice day.
That would be ANY religious sign, since religion - all religion - is false.

Think not? Post objective evidence showing that the objective claims of your religion are.true.

True or false multiple question paper, deduction of marks if incorrect answer. is it best to answer all true?

I'm taking a 100 question multiple choice question paper on Tuesday, but I don't know the subject very well. It's true or false question with 1 mark for a correct answer and minus half a mark for a false one. Would I be able to achieve statistically an OK mark grade if I just put true for all the answers? Or would it be wiser to answer only the questions I know the answer to?True or false multiple question paper, deduction of marks if incorrect answer. is it best to answer all true?
Answer them all with your best guess. If you haven't a clue, go ahead and answer true.

You can expect about half of the answers to be true and about half to be false. So if you answer all of them true, you can expect to get a full point for half of them, and a negative half point for the other half, averaging out to about a quarter point per question.

    If you answer all 100 questions this way, you can expect to score 25 points -- probably not ';statistically an OK mark grade.';

What you want to do is:

    (1) Answer all the questions you know. You'll expect to earn near 100% for these questions.

    (2) If you aren't certain, but have a feeling one way or the other, follow your gut. You won't expect to earn full marks for these, but probably something better than 25%.

    (3) If you really have no idea, go ahead and answer all true or however you like. You'll only expect to earn a quarter point for these, but it's better than nothing.True or false multiple question paper, deduction of marks if incorrect answer. is it best to answer all true?
u should mark it all true. because.....

let x be the questions whose answers are true

let y be the questions whose answers are false

    your mark is calculated by

(1x - 0.5y) / 100 if u mark it all true because u get one mark for each correct answer and minus half a mark for an incorrect one

if u only mark the ones u know, u'd get one mark minused anyways so your mark woud be

(1x - 1y) / 100 and i would rather get 0.5 minused for one wrong answer than one full mark for an unanswered one

but u never did explain what happens if u dont answer at all so i dont know what ur talking about please add more info

For me the mark of a false religion is that you have to do something to earn your way to heaven? What do you?

think? For me the mark of a false religion is that you have to do something to earn your way to heaven? What do you?
    Valid comment.

One of my books have a whole pile of traits to avoid.

Things like asking that an item of your ';previus faith'; is destroyed, denounced or otherwised defiled.

    A good rule of thumb.

.For me the mark of a false religion is that you have to do something to earn your way to heaven? What do you?
And the true mark of faith, is action. :)
how to know if your religion is false?

if your God hates the same people you do.
The mark of a false religion is faith.
Good. The striking thing about true faith is that YAHOSHUA saves us in order to make us good. Heathen religions (including Judaism) say you make yourself good, then the Almighty is pleased with you and saves you.

True faith says you cannot make yourself good. Only YHVH can.
For me, the mark of falsehood is religion.
I agree. That is one mark. The idea of the free gift of Salvation by Grace is so utterly foreign to human thinking, most people would rather believe ANYTHING else. Our ingrained sense of pride tells us we must do SOMETHING to earn Salvation. Even many Christians are tempted to mingle works with Grace for Salvation. The Book of Galatians in the Bible deals with this type of thinking in the early Church. Salvation by Grace doesn't make sense to most people and it strikes right at the heart of our prideful, self-sufficient, elitist thinking. We have nothing of which to boast or pat ourselves on the back about.

You've made a very astute observation.

8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9Not of works, lest any man should boast.

10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

    Ephesians 2:8-10 (King James Version)

22For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

    23But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

24But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

1 Corinthians 1:22-24 (King James Version)

    ';For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.';

1 Corinthians 1:18 (King James Version)
For me the mark of a false religion is one that asks for money from those that follow it but offers nothing in return (other than perhaps more selfish materialism). It is one thing to request money for things such as texts that spiritual uplift and inspire and teach spiritual lessons. It is one thing to request money to be used for charitable purposes that help others who are in need. It is quite another to simply ask for money and keep it for yourself or to continue to bind people to selfish materialism rather than teaching them the ways to liberation or even simply just how to be in the presence of God and receive God's grace and love.

But that's my own humble opinion. Though God is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent and even God can find a way to use the false religion to lead someone back to God. God has the power to use the religion, has the knowledge of our hearts to know which persons are actually seeking after God, and the presence to be in all places at all times. Thus in the false religion God knows the sincerity of the hearts of the people and God will be present there for those that truly seek after God and through God's power will lead them to God. We need not do anything but keep our hearts open and our soul ready to receive.
O.K. I tend to agree with you, somewhat. What if that religion does not say anything about heaven? Not all religions believe in heaven.

But if it does, the deeper question is , ';What is the relationship between faith and works?';. Even in Christianity, this is a confusing matter. If I am saved by faith, then all I have to do is believe. After that, can I live anyhow? No, because believing entails a certain lifestyle. If I do not live according to my belief, I have effectively denied that belief.

So, I agree with you that salvation is obtained only by faith in the atoning sacrifice of Jesus. But once I am saved, I need to live according to that belief, e.g love those who hate me.

I would therefore compare it to the legal term ';Condition Subsequent'; (as opposed to ';Condition Precedent';).
The mark of a false religion is that it is a religion. All are false
A good point. Also any system that has ';levels'; to achieve heaven is a sure sign of a cult. Especially if you have to pay for a certificate of level achievement.

Like ol' HASSE above, a member of a cult always thinks he is elite above other religions/cults.
I don't know of a religion were you just sit on you butt all the time
For me the mark of a false religion is calling it a religion.
By ';do something'; I assume you also include confessing(verb) your sins and accepting (verb) the salvation of Christ, as well as praying (verb) to God? If I were to Confess my sins to Satan and accept his salvation and pray to him would that not be a false religion? Salvation, I think, must depend utterly upon God in order for a religion not to be false. Not our understanding.
I am a SATANIST and i don't believe in heaven ?? as once we die we all go the same way ,that includes being Cremated,as once we are dead we know not where we go?

and i have never heard from any one to have said otherwise !! Have you !!
for me, the mark of a false religion, is that it teaches things to its followers that never pan out. Like ';if you begin to do this devotion, you will have more joy and you will feel the spirit in your heart';...and it doesn't happen, or ';if you do this spell, you will be protected from your bill collectors calling you at work.'; and it doesn't happen.

The truth always outs itself eventually.
What then, is the mark of a righteous religion?

A false religion is one that people hound you to follow.

They tell you that the religion you are following is false.

A true religion does not put down other religions.
The question is does the doctrine line up to what the Bible teaches. 2 Timothy 3:16 says the Bible is where whe need to get our doctrine from and it is able to make us wise unto salvation.

For example, what does your denomination teach about how to be saved and what did the apostles teach? Do they line up? If not, why not? Shouldn't we be preaching the same gospel?

On the day of Pentecost, the birth of the Church, the apostle Peter preached the first gospel message. If you do what he said to do you will be saved.

The gospel according to the apostles is that Jesus is both LORD (Jehovah, ie God) and Christ (the man promised to redeem us.) He lived a sinless life, died a sacrificial death on the cross, rose from the dead, ascended to heaven, and was glorified and is pouring out the Spirit.

The apostle Peter preaced the first gospel message on the day of Pentecost. When the people were convicted and asked what to do Peter said repent, be baptised in Jesus name, and recieve the Holy Ghost.

    Acts 2

14But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:

15For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.

    16But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;

17And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

18And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

36Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

37Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

38Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

39For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call.

40And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

41Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

42And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

Now you see that they repented, got baptised in Jesus name, and recieved the Holy Ghost. But they didn't stop there. They went to church regularly, fellowshiped with other believers, and prayed. If you'll do these things then you'll be happier and you'll start living a more holy life.

    Jesus said the same thing.

Joh 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

water = water baptism (should be in Jesus name)

Spirit = Spirit baptism (you will speak in tongues)

True or False: The colors used for marking roadways are red, yellow, and white?

True, green can found too!True or False: The colors used for marking roadways are red, yellow, and white?
In the UK on motorways there are several colours which shouw you:-

    which is the hardshoulder

Which is the far left lane.

    Which is the middle lane.

Which is the far right lane ('central reservation).

And I'm really sorry but for the life of me I cannot recall which lane line is which colour (oops). It's not the line that is the colour, it;s the cats eyes that are the colour.

Some lane markings are red in the UK but these tend to be on regular streets and are a 'no stopping - red route'.True or False: The colors used for marking roadways are red, yellow, and white?
    False. Just yellow and white.
false, there are no red markings.

What is the term for marking up a ';regular'; price in order to advertise a false ';sale';?

I have found a website advertising a book as ';33% off'; for $19.97. The publisher's website lists the suggested retail price as $19.97. Is this illegal? Is there a special marketing word for this unscrupulous practice? What is the term for marking up a ';regular'; price in order to advertise a false ';sale';?
I've heard it called gouging...don't know if there are any other names. What is the term for marking up a ';regular'; price in order to advertise a false ';sale';?
';Fraud'; comes to mind, but I think you're right. There is another term that marketers use but I can't recall it.
    Yes, its called ';false advertising';.

    Or, ';lying';.
    Gouging
Its not illegal, the manufacturer has a SUGGESTED retail price, and if someone is dumb enough to fall for the false markup, overinflated price and fake markdown, they get what they deserve. A retailer can sell an item for anything they can get for it....for example, the people who sold their Nintendo WII's for way over market value...it is frowned upon, and often leads to the manufacturer cutting off the supply to the offending store. There is an old saying, ';Let the Buyer Beware';....which means its up to smart consumers like you to know how to read a price tag and be an educated consumer. Furniture stores and jewelry stores are famous for this kind of practice....and people fall for it all the time. No one who has a SALE all the time is giving the best price all the time. The best deals will be at places that have fixed prices about 80% of the year, then have sales a couple times a year.

Also, have you ever noticed that the stuff in the stores the day after Thanksgiving isn;t the same as the merchandise they usually carry? Thats because they buy junk that looks like the regular stuff, but is inferior in quality, and it costs them $10, they mark it $40, then give you half off! Its not the same as their regular $40 item, or they would be losing money selling it at half off right away. Better to wait for end of season sales on quality brand names instead of stores ';private labels'; aka generics. The real deals are when the stock is picked over at the end of the season.
